Monday 26th November. 6.30-8pm.
Guest speakers: Landscape Ecologist Nathan McQuoid; Fungi specialist Katie Syme; Cockatoo enthusiast Melissa Howe.
Nathan has worked extensively on Hallowell veg surveys and more recent hazard assessment work. Katie is offering a slide show presentation showing the role of fungi in the forest processes. Melissa has been collecting information on local cockatoo shenanigans and will share some of the highlights.
This will be a wrap of our WA State NRM Office Community Action Project ‘Protection of Conservation Values of Mount Hallowell Reserve’. This short, focused project has involved weed control, scouting less visited areas, a community field day and displays.
A most gratifying outcome of this project has been the formation of a ‘Friends of Mount Hallowell’ group.
